چکیده

A momentum-space approach of the density-matrix renormalization-group ~DMRG! method is developed. Ground-state energies of the Hubbard model are evaluated using this method and compared with exact diagonalization as well as quantum Monte Carlo results. It is shown that the momentum-space DMRG is a very useful numerical tool for studying the Hubbard model and other fundamental models of interacting electrons in two dimensions. For the Hubbard model in two dimensions, the momentum-space DMRG method reproduces accurately the exact diagonalization results of ground-state energies on a 434 lattice and yields new upper bounds of ground-state energies on an 838 lattice. @S0163-1829~96!52416-1#

Time-Dependent Real-Space Renormalization Group Method

In this paper, using the tight-binding model, we extend the real-space renormalization group method to time-dependent Hamiltonians. We drive the time-dependent recursion relations for the renormalized tight-binding Hamiltonian by decimating selective sites of lattice iteratively. The formalism is then used for the calculation of the local density of electronic states for a one dimensional quant...

Density matrix renormalization group study of 48 Cr and 56

We discuss the development of an angular-momentum-conserving variant of the Density Matrix Renormalization Group (DMRG) method for use in large-scale shell-model calculations of atomic nuclei and report a first application of the method to the ground state of 56Ni and improved results for 48Cr. In both cases, we see a high level of agreement with the exact results. A comparison of the two shows...

Renormalization algorithm for the calculation of spectra of interacting quantum systems

We present an algorithm for the calculation of eigenstates with definite linear momentum in quantum lattices. Our method is related to the density matrix renormalization group, and makes use of the distribution of multipartite entanglement to build variational wave functions with translational symmetry. The algorithm is applied to the study of bilinear-biquadratic S=1 chains, in particular to t...

Density-matrix renormalization group methods for momentum- and frequency-resolved dynamical correlation functions

Several density-matrix renormalization group methods have been proposed to compute the momentumand frequency-resolved dynamical correlation functions of low-dimensional strongly correlated systems. The most relevant approaches are discussed in this contribution. Their applications in various studies of quasi-one-dimensional strongly correlated systems (spin chains, itinerant electron systems, e...
